WHAT IS FLAG FOOTBALL? WHAT DO WE DO?

WYFC is excited to announce that we will now be offering ALL GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL for girls grades K-12! We will continue to offer non-tackle football for boys between ages of 5-7 years old. We understand that flag football is the foundation of our program, and the beginning of a great future for many football athletes to come. Our program takes great pride in teaching the fundamentals of football to our youth athletes and providing them a safe and exciting space to develop into what can one day become your favorite high school, collegiate, and possible professional NFL player!

WHAT DOES PRACTICE REQUIRE?

Practice will begin on Monday, August 3rd. Practices are located at the backfield of Wappingers Junior High School. Each team will have a designated practice area. Days and times can vary for each team (final practice schedule TBA by June). Practice takes place two times per week and will continue until the end of October. Athletes are expected to have cleats, mouthpiece and a full water bottle to keep them plenty hydrated throughout the duration of practice. All athletes are expected to attend practice. As we understand things may come up, we ask that you communicate with your coach. Excessive absence not only affects your athlete individually but will affect the entire team as a whole. Final practice schedule made available by June.

WHAT IS GAMEDAY LIKE?

Game day takes place on Saturdays beginning the second weekend of September. Athletes will arrive approximately 1 hour before start time. Games are held at our field at Wappingers Junior High School, and last for approximately one hour. All athletes are expected to be in attendance and on time on game day.

HOW MUCH DOES FLAG FOOTBALL COST?

Flag football costs $150.00. This includes an official NFL flag jersey personalized for your athlete's team, matching socks and flags. Parents are responsible for purchasing cleats, mouthpieces and game shorts.
